If the former, I'm surprised that your preferences aren't being saved from session to session, but I don't have any ideas for other things to try. If you want to actually get rid of the proposed changes and go back to the original text, simply use the Reject icon in the Review tab and choose 'Reject All Changes in Document.' (Or review and accept or reject them one by one.) Patty.
